Mass Ushers, also referred to as Ministers of Hospitality, fulfill several important roles within the context of mass, including the following:
Adult men and women of our church community are invited to engage in this ministry. Individuals must be able to effectively fulfill the various roles listed above and demonstrate dependable participation. A willingness to commit to a regular schedule is most helpful in forming teams for each of the scheduled masses. When needed, Mass Ushers also serve for other masses (e.g., funerals) and liturgical services. We are currently seeking to expand the number of Mass Ushers (Ministers of Hospitality) to effectively form such teams. If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact the Parish Office to be included in the next training.

Proclaiming the Word of God is a fundamental part of the Liturgy in Mass for which Mass Lectors have important responsibility. Through an effective Lector’s reading, God’s word is heard and made active for faith community members, as if God himself is speaking. To serve as an effective Mass Lector, one must demonstrate the following:
To serve as Mass Lector, one must be in good standing with the Church and approved by our church pastor to serve in this role. Upon completion of training required by the Archdiocese Office of Worship, Mass Lectors are commissioned by the Archdiocese to serve for a period of three years.
We are currently seeking additional participants in this ministry, so we can develop teams of Mass Lectors to effectively support each of our regularly scheduled masses and other liturgical events. If you are interested in participating in this ministry, please contact our Parish Office (985-497-3412). Holy Communion is the climax of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in which we receive the nourishing Body and Blood of Christ. Individuals engaged in this ministry answer this most sacred call to assist priests with Communion and commit to serve our Catholic community in this way and to a serving schedule.
To serve as an Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC), one must be in good standing with the Church and approved by our church pastor to serve in this role. Upon completion of training required by the Archdiocese Office of Worship, EMHCs are commissioned by the Archdiocese to serve for a period of three years.
We are currently seeking additional participants in this ministry, so we can develop EMHC teams to effectively support each of our regularly scheduled masses, other liturgical events, and to serve those who are sick or homebound. An announcement of the next training session will be posted here in the near future.

Music enriches the faithful and celebratory experience of mass and other liturgical events. Currently, we have an organist and vocalist/cantor for our Saturday 4:00 pm Vigil Mass, no music ministry for our Sunday 7:00 am Mass, and a Senior Gospel Choir (adult) for our Sunday 10:00 am Mass. Recently, there has been an emerging interest in forming a Children's Choir and/or bringing back a Junior/Youth Gospel Choir that once existed. Suggestions for other forms of music ministry are always welcome.
All members of our church community are invited to share their musical talents, vocal and instrumental, in building and expanding our music ministry.

Sacristans contribute an important, behind-the-scene role in preparing the altar for Holy Mass, including setting the missal bookmarks, setting out vessels and other materials, maintaining proper handling of materials (e.g., altar linens), and preparing the unconsecrated hosts and wine.
Formal preparation and coaching support is provided for those who choose to enter and engage in this ministry. There is significant need in our Church community for expanding participation in this ministry.
