Fundraising events and activities focus on specific needs and goals. Examples that many parishioners are familier includ the July 4 and All Saints Day food festivals. Periodically, raffles and bake sales occur and are examples of the purpose, scope, and intended outcomes of fundraising initiatives.
By definition, campaign initiatives are major fund raising event that are larger in scope, time period, and outcomes. That is, a major campaign initiative includes a clearly defined goal (and use of funds) and a specific target amount of funds to be raised through interaction with members of specifically defined audience within a specific time period (i.e., start and end dates). As part of our current parish sustainability initiative, the Finance Committee has already begun examining parish needs and opportunities, identifying priorities, and developing corresponding major campaign initiatives.
Currently, our primary focus is on achieving complete repair and restoration of our beautiful, historic church and community center related to extensive damage from Hurricane Ida. In addition, efforts are underway on other development projects related to our parish rectory, cemetery, and exploring options for future developments. Several individuals are intensely engaged in these processes, with update reports to our church community via this website and through weekly announcements at mass and in the church bulletin.
