Jesus Christ instituted seven sacraments and gave these to the Church, first through his Apostles and today by those who receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders, specifically our Priests and Bishops. The sacraments are visible ways to receive and witness God's grace for which each is intended to convey. Each sacrament is carried out and made visible through specific and proper signs, rituals, and intentions.
One way to think about the seven sacraments is shown in the image to the left and as follows:
Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist
Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation (and Penance), Anoiting of the Sick
Sacarements of Service of Communion: Holy Matrimony and Holy Orders
The web pages included in this section of our Church website, provide additional details of the purpose, meaning, and processes associated with each Sacrament.
